Each family is required to volunteer a minimum of 20 activities
per school year or pay a non-participation fee of $150.00 per family.
o
1 time Yard duty = 1 activity
o
1 time Cafeteria duty = 1 activity
o
For all remaining, 1 hour = 1 activity.

Families will receive 2 volunteering sign up sheets, one in June for
the fall fundraising activities and one in October for the winter and
spring. Volunteers MUST sing up for
specific activities and MUST include dates and times.

One coordinator is needed for specific events.

For yard and cafeteria duties, parents of each grade will be
responsible for the two months per year.

September & April: 1st and 4th
o
October, May thru graduation: K, 5th and 8th
o
November & January: 3rd
& 6th
o
December & February: 2nd
& 7th
o
March: Pre-k & 8th

A 48 hour notice is required if a volunteer cannot make it on the day
of the activity. Volunteers MUST have a
substitute that can attend in their place.
They are responsible to inform the sub of what needs to be done and
providing all necessary phone numbers.
Failure to not show up twice and not follow the above rules will result
in taking the volunteer off the volunteering list and of being charged the
volunteering fee.

If volunteers are unable to reach the coordinator of an event, for any
reason, they can call someone in the home and school committee. Phone numbers and email addresses will be
provided to all.

In addition to the signing in and out volunteering sheet at the school,
parents will have a separate sheet that must be signed with the hours in and
out by the teacher, coordinator or those responsible for every event.

All fundraising events and activities will be posted on the school web
site, in the church bulletin (both churches) and flyers posted in the area
businesses, if needed. Events will be
opened to parishioners and some to the public.

For field trips, parents will have to send with their children $5 or
$10 (depending on the cost of the trip) along with the permission slip to
defray the cost of the trips. Students
that come to school without the money for the trip will not be allowed to go on
the trip.

Money raised from every fundraising event will be assigned to a
specific goal. A letter will be sent to
the parents to explain more about the goals and how the money will be
distributed. Also amount of money
collected will be announced after every event.

For the Spanish and Arabic speaking parents who would like an
interpreter during meetings with any of the school staff or need assistance in
completing forms, an interpreter will be provided. All information and discussion will stay
CONFIDENTIAL. (No volunteers are needed)

We would like to assign one parent to every 2 to 3 new parents to the
school. Duties will include welcome them
into the school, answer questions, take them on a tour of the school… if unsure
of any information, the parent need to refer back to the teacher or the school
office for the correct answers. New
parents should not be given any false information. Volunteers assigned to new parents of Pre-K
and K. must attend the Pre-K. and K. Parents/Teacher
Orientation.

Volunteering forms MUST be completed by the end of August and submitted
to the school the first day of school or before if possible. A meeting with all volunteers, coordinators,
home and school committee and Sister Catherine will be held during the first
week of September to discuss and answer any questions. Msgr. Kozel and
Msgr. Byrne will be invited to attend this meeting and all meetings concerning
any and all decisions made for the school.

There will be new fundraising activities for the teachers in order to
support them in purchasing supplies for their classrooms. The “teacher’s white angel” fund will be use
for this matter.

Profit from Friday Pizza Sales will revert to the Home & School
Association to help defray the cost of school field trips.

All Volunteer spots are on a “first come first served” basis. This is
because of the limited number of spots available for certain activities.
